Safety notice
Read before using any PoolSense recommendation
Important
PoolSense provides general guidance based on AI analysis of test strips and pool water images. Recommendations are estimates and may not reflect your exact pool conditions.
Always do this
- Read product labels and safety data sheets before handling any pool chemical
- Wear gloves and eye protection when handling chlorine, acid, or shock
- Store chemicals in original containers, away from heat and moisture
- Add chemicals to the pool slowly, never the reverse
Never do this
- NEVER mix pool chemicals (chlorine and acid combinations create toxic gas)
- NEVER add chemicals while people are in the pool
- NEVER pre-dissolve chlorine tablets in a bucket
- NEVER use chemicals you cannot identify
When to consult a professional
For pools used by infants, immunocompromised individuals, or commercial pools, consult a certified pool service professional. PoolSense is not a substitute for professional pool maintenance or medical advice.
Emergencies
If chemicals are accidentally mixed or someone is exposed, leave the area immediately, ventilate, and contact poison control or local emergency services. In the United States, Poison Control is 1-800-222-1222.
