What it means
Free bromine at 6 ppm is above the comfortable swim range. Usually the result of a recent MPS shock that has not fully dissipated, or a feeder rate set too high.
What to do
Reduce feeder rate one notch. Wait 12 to 24 hours, run pump, re-test. Skin irritation is unlikely at 6 ppm but levels above 8 ppm start to feel harsh.
